A Change of Rhythm
Friday, June 5, 2026

Summer has a way of changing the rhythm of life. The days feel a little longer, the pace
slows just enough to catch our breath, and families find more time to be together in ways the rest of the year doesn’t always allow. Whether going on vacation, a cookout in the backyard, a baseball game, or simply a quiet stroll around the neighborhood, summer reminds us of the importance of stepping away from the ordinary routine and enjoying the blessings right in front of us.
Of course, summer also brings one of our favorite national traditions: Independence Day. It’s a time to celebrate our freedoms, remember the ideals that bind us together, and enjoy the shared experiences that help strengthen our families and communities.
For investors, summer can also be a season of distraction as sometimes the market changes it's own rhythm. Markets do not always move neatly with the calendar, but the summer months have historically been a mixed period for stocks. Some years bring strong rallies like we’ve been experiencing recently, while others bring slower trading and greater sensitivity to news headlines. As we look ahead toward this year’s upcoming midterm elections, it would not be surprising for us to see political news, policy debates and media noise that create short-term uncertainty. In fact, I’m counting on it!
Some summers bring strong rallies while others bring slower trading and greater sensitivity to news headlines.
But uncertainty is nothing new. Markets have lived through elections, wars, recessions, inflation, interest rate cycles, and countless headlines that felt urgent in the moment. That is why we continue to believe that a thoughtful, long-term investment plan matters far more than reacting emotionally to short-term news. The goal is not to predict every market move, but to remain disciplined, diversified, and focused on the purpose behind your plan. Too, if and when those moments of short-term volatility arrive, we’ll be there to guide you each step of the way.
At Riverfront, summer also means the opportunity to welcome interns into our office(s) and invest in the next generation of professionals. We believe internships are about more than completing simple tasks; they are an opportunity for learning, asking good questions, gaining some real-world experiences, and discovering how meaningful work is when done with excellence and care.
This summer, we are happy to welcome Georgie McCoy to the Riverfront team. I’ll let her introduce herself:

“Hello, my name is Georgie, and I’m so excited to be joining the Riverfront team this summer! I am currently pursuing a degree in Finance at the University of Arkansas and have a strong interest in financial planning and investing. I look forward to deepening my understanding of how financial strategies are developed, gaining valuable hands-on experience with the team, and growing both professionally and personally!”
We are grateful to have Georgie with us and look forward to a great summer of growth and shared experience. She will make an appearance in each office at some point through out the summer and even be joining in on a few client meetings as well both in person and via zoom. If you are fortunate enough to meet her during one of those visits, please say hello! And of course, please ask her to explain "options trading" to you before you leave. She'll be so happy you did!
In addition to Georgie, we are excited to announce yet another addition to the Riverfront family as of May 28, our first grandchild! Grant and McKenzie welcomed their newborn son late last week and we are so thankful for his much anticipated arrival.
From all of us at Riverfront, we hope your summer is filled with family, rest, celebration, and moments that become lasting memories; and as always, never hesitate in reaching out to us if needed.
Blessings--
